In Line Ovals came through for us!!!!(Bizarro Universe version)

Oh Mitch,

Your post was so filled with eloquence.

But it pales in comparison to the vitriol filled private e-mail you sent me.

It makes sailors seem tame, and puts longshoremen to shame.

If you really wish to share, go right ahead and tell all of us how you really feel.

No need to pull punches are anything like that. We're all adults aren't we?

But again, such eloquence.

But Mitch,

Even if you don't want to share your obviously deep and private thoughts here, maybe you can add some valuable input HERE, on THIS thread.

kathy,

I said slight sarcasm, only for the word "only" that was in your post.

I can change the edit to whatever you wish. This is after all, a thread where we will take out, modifiy, or alter all things that are inflamitory or otherwise just not right.

Is that what you/we want?
Marc, since we are in "Bizarro World" I would like a change made. I re-reviewed my first post after careful consideration of your thoughts on the word "only". Honestly if you are familiar with my posts you would know my sarcasm when being subtle would include italics. As in "Just another example of why In line Ovals are the only source you will ever need for oval frames!" Sooo, I really feel my post should stand as a genuine post. So, if you could please consider a re-edit I will be happy. Thanks.

The main reason I would like the re-edit is because when looking at the whole travesty suggesting sarcasm coming from me would suggest I started this whole mess. I do not want to shoulder that burden at this time. Thanks again!

Sorry 'bout that Kathy.
With thirty-six hundred or so to pick from, I am dumbfounded how I made that mistake. (more dumb than founded, that is)

Deed is done.

No prob Marc. Thanks for the correction. Now the onus falls squarely on Pat Murphey in being the instigator of the whole downward spiral. I love, love, love revisionist history!

One more correction if you could then I will be good to go. In Cornel's first post you edited for "unpleasantness". Since some of that unpleasantness included thoughts directed at me could you possible indicate in the edit the following: Edited for unpleasantness some of which were direct shots at Kathy which caused her later sarcastic laden posts. I just think it is important for posterity. Otherwise my posts just look a little loopy and without direction for a target. That about covers it, then I'm a happy camper. Thanks much!

I can relate to that. But keep in mind he was not just tossing off shots at you. To be fair, I'd have to add all who shots were directed. That might get to be a long list.

I was shooting for brevity.

I missed the mark on that one.

Well alright I can live with it. It will be part of the permanent record here. Of course that is assuming anybody actually has the intestinal fortitude to read this all the way to the bitter end.....I suppose most of my posts look a little loopy and without direction anyway.

In case anyone's interested, Cornel and I have a pleasant rapport. I'm sure he took my 'over the top' jibe in the spirit it was delivered.
Interesting that the Bizzaro Thread was posted on a thread that had only one moderator...

Don't know 'bout you Charles, but have we noticed that whater is done, everyone is not happy?

Some people were upset about the content.

Some wanted some form of moderation.

Some didn't/don't, and are upset about that.

Some are upset about the way it was moderated.

Some are upset that it was not moderated enough.

Some are upset that The Grumble it too permissive.

Some are upset that there is too much control.

Can The Grumble be all things to all people?

Nope.

Will everyone be happy all the time about every post?

Will everyone be happy about any action taken?

nope.

nope.

But yes Charles, minimal outside moderation, and maximum self moderation and self restraint by participants would be the ideal.

In light of Marc's last post, it would seem to me that in the interest in honesty and integrity to the forum, things should be left as they where originally posted. To come out with a so called edited version, such as this ridicules joke, is just plain, stupid. Whoever did this is obviously suffering from ego, I have to be the boss, and a serious case of incontroleites.

I think a good hemorrhoid cream in the ears may solve this problem for that person. Or perhaps taken orally, I don't know.

Myself, I am really offended that anyone would have the unmitigated gall to edit my posts. Whoever did it can shove it as far as I am concerned. If this was supposed to be funny, it ain't.

John

John,

If you look at it from an artistic point of view, then Marc is a plain good director. Comon John, the real thread is intact and safe. This one is just his interpretation of it in Eugen Ionesco's manner. Besides, it has a politically correct strong ending: "Will everyone be happy all the time about every post?/ Nope./ Nope." And that's
the perfect reason to refrain from choping and editing, which is exactly your point.

Cornell, have you noticed how many people are now going to look into selling ILOs?

I told you it would be a great investment strategy to buy ILO stock and then rant and rave on the G against them.....

Hey, Baer

You're new and impetuous to our "incestuous" world. Reality is that ol' grumblers are good friends, if not directly related to each other

-CharlesL just divulged our special friendly personal relation.
-Though we rarely root on same banch, I feel for John and, despite desagreeing with most of my opinions, he bought my frames for "added prestige" purpose
-I carry marks of my fights with Marc Lizer, yet we keep each other's raining checks for dinner
-I've tested Grumbler's God patience in my own way and I am still around, up and kickin'
-I argued big time with Jim Miller over Columbus framing quality, yet I respect his reputation and personal experience to the point I let my ILO-fobia go.
And the list can go on and on.

I'll tell you a secret: Grumbler's politically corect answer is to pretend fall for ILO. In reality I have Kathy and Jerry in my book schedulled for first delivery in 2006, respectively 2007, pending on Kathy's finding of a better location and Jerry's bringing in a rich dead hand partner

So be more circumspect to all those pro-ILO ads of theirs ;)

I don't think I'm giving away any secrets to say that Paul Fredericks, one of our newest and most esteemed members, will be 89 in a month or so.

Oh, sorry.

Grumblers who registered before there were calendars will show a registration date of "A very long time ago!"

But, as far as I'm concerned, anybody who's been here longer than, say, 38 months has been here forever - and any movie made since 1950 is a recent release.
