Just had a customer drop off a Brass Rubbing measuring 7 feet x 2.5 feet. If you are not familiar with a Brass Rubbing, there are made by placing a sheet of lightweight paper <> 20 lb. over top of a medieval Monumental Brass plaque and rubbing a wax crayon type stick over the paper to relicate the raised brass image onto the paper.

This will not be dry mounted, so it will be placed between a backing and the glass. The questions, is, can I get a suitable acid free backing board 7 feet long? I think the paper is too light to not use a single backer as I'm afraid the seam might show through.

Or, what would you suggest?

TIA

You can buy barrier paper in rolls. Use foam board with barrier laid over the top of it under the rubbing.

Artcare foam come 48x96

I've had to buy several cases for a recent job.
