I am looking for a good reputable source for vintage maps. I have a client that is looking for authentic vintage maps and keeps finding reproductions.

I want to be able to refer him to them and just handle the framing portion.

Antique Shops

Dave,

I have purchased about 10-12 vintage maps over the years to sell and keep and have had the best success in antique shops that specialize in antique prints.

Thanks, I passed the information on to my customer.

Dave, there used to be several that would show at the trade shows, but not as many lately.
The first link is to Michael Alden and Associates where I have purchased quite a few vintage pieces, the other is to Graham Arader's site probably the most well known of the vintage print dealers.

Prints: Old and Rare will send you a batch of pieces on approval, but you must be very specific about what you want or you will get a wide variety of stuff. I've gotten some good area maps from them dating back to early 1800's though post civil war era. They deal only with the trade.

I have no idea what he is after. I don't want to get involved other then passing on some sources to my customer and then framing.
