If it helps, I think these guys are bonefish scouting

They are flats poling for any number of species...bonefish being the ultimate for skill, and tarpon for bravery. Permit, Redfish, Bonefish, Tarpon... any number of species are caught thus, including both Shark and Snapper species. The Goliath Grouper (previously known as the Jewfish) is also a target species of flats fly fishing. Woe be to they who hooks a Goliath Grouper on a fly rod. They can weigh in excess of 500 lbs. and they are a protected species.

How many sites did you explore? Are there certain ones
you frequent, or were you hopscotching around like I do?
