Some of you have been looking for Obama pieces. Well a good friend of mine and a very successful artist, has just released this limited edition piece, on Museum Quality Etching Paper. Size is 11 x14. Wholesale cost is $105.00 plus shipping. Will ship Free for 6 or more pieces.

Marcus and I are in the process of setting up a wholesale web site for the Unique Artistry of Marcus Glenn. Marcus is collected worldwide, and while in the past he has been under exclusive contract with another distributor, he is now also self publishing. Total sales of Marcus's work, are in excess of 10 million dollars at present.

How limited, John?

How limited, John?

Not that I mock any entrepeneurial spirit, but my first smart-a$$ comment would be "Limited to the number that will sell" hehehehe

Don't take that as criticism. I would be happy to do the same thing if I had the talent!

I know I forgot something Dave.

The edition size is 2000. Which is a large edition for Marcus, but we really think that these are going to sell out. Marcus and I have had dissuasions about editions and rest assured that this image will not be re-issued in another size or format. The original already sold for the mid 4 figures.

This realistic portrait style is very different from Marcus's signature style called "Flat Life" which is a bas-relief type of painting. These two images are sold out print editions of the style Marcus is widely know for.

Slightly frankenthreading, but his older pieces look alot like NC artist, Ivey Hayes' works.

Wish you all success with the Obama art.

I may be wrong but I see the Obama print popularity lasting about another 6 weeks, until after the inauguration. We have ordered about 3 each of a small selection of prints. I plan to frame them and see what happens in January. My total cost for the lot is under $150. Most of what we sold in December was around $100-$300 framed, so I would be wary of anything more expensive in my area, at least. Good luck with the print!

I realize that a Limited Edition print with a $105. wholesale is a little bit for most small frame shops to purchase on speculation.
However this is not just a portrait of Barack Obama, but a piece by the very collectible, Marcus Glenn. Marcus has a huge following and this is is first self published piece and the first opportunity to buy his artwork wholesale. (Dare I say, that he has been under exclusive contract to PWG [I know, I know] but having his art on my site/store, I have gotten hundreds of requests to buy his works, that have been previously unavailable to us)

Not a problem if there is no interest here on the Grumble as they will sell out to collectors of Marcus's work anyhow. Every edition Marcus has done in the past has been a virtual sell out, and only available on the secondary market, never at wholesale.

No offense intended, but Andy Thomas ought to learn that Obama is not an Irish name.

And while I am being super-picky - the Marcus portrait seems to be coming from a really odd angle - far too cheeky for my taste - looks like a dark cross between McCain and Prince Charles, just sayin'.....all cheeks and ears, ya know?

I like the TIME cover of the Person of the Year (sorry, forgot the artist's name...) ;)
