Customer brought in these leather chaps to be put into a shadowbox. They want it to be displayed like in the first photo (the one on cardboard).

I've been debating the right approach for a while. I could probably take advantage of the loops, holes, straps and buckles at the top to hold up most of the weight. Would that be strong enough? what about the bottom? Should I even mount the bottom? Should I cut inserts out of foamcore to put inside the legs, or should I just attach it directly to the mat?

Any advice or resources would be incredibly appriciated.

If you put foam board or fluted polypropylene in the legs, you could secure them using those handy, hidden leather straps. Plenty of attachment options on the top.

My guess is that the biggest potential problem would be controlling the fringe, which could get caught up between the mounting board and the glazing. Holding down the fringe would be a major mess.
