Mat classes

Being the Newbie, I would like to know if anyone has any suggestions on a seminar or class that has more than just the basic mat cutting. I am looking for more creative ways to mat pictures, etc. Most classes I've found are usually for frame making all the way to the final product. I have found a couple of books, but they are pretty basic too.

Any ideas? I need to find ways to jazz things up a bit!!

Do a search on this forum, check out the design thread. Experience and imagination help. Work on some of your own things for display projects. Visit another framer in your area and see if they are able to give you a day of mentoring.

Although I prefer hands on/in person instruction... there are many good books on this subject. Check out "Cutting, carving, decorating Mats" by Brian Wolfe...
