Trying to update my pricing. I know I will have to call L/S to go over it but from the store level, what kind of mark ups and pricing do you all use. Specifically on glass: by u.i., lite or s.f.? and what mark up. I have always bought larger size and cut as needed. My L/S needs fixing soon!!

Hi

Pricing is going to vary a lot, depending on your own financial needs and goals. (rent, expenses, labor, etc) It also matters if you are paying freight or have free delivery, and that vendor's selling price.

We review/adjust our glazing prices every 6 months or so, with a price list in hand from the local vendor that delivers glazing (with free delivery, which is a factor in our choice)

We use the option for most glazing types to price by the LITE, and have it set up to price by the actual lite we will be cutting it from (from the sizes we stock), to reduce loss/waste.

For the specialty types of glazing only sold to us by SF, we price by SF.

I divide the box price by the number of lites in the box, to determine the cost per lite. I put that number in the chart, in the COST column. Then the multiplier is in the next column, so it can calculate the current retail price per lite. (example 3) We sometimes have a slightly higher markup for very small pieces, and a slightly lower for full sheets.

While mats, mouldings, and fabrics will automatically update weekly as prices go up - glazing, labor/stretching/mounting, and specials/special treatments do not. These do require periodic review. This applies to any POS.

I hope this is helpful!

Hi Mike - that is SO helpful... thank you very much.... Will be reviewing it soon!! Hope I don't have any other questions!! Thanks, Roz

Hi again Mike,

There are 2 tabs in there, one for TruVue glazing and Other Glazing... do I need both, or what is the difference?

How to delete?

Thanks Roz

I wouldn't necessarily delete anything. Some folks carry other brands of glazing, so they have a place for OTHER. You can add other items there, too, like mirrors.
