Hi friends! I found myself needing some corner samples of the matboards we carry and couldn't track down a template or sizing so I set off on my own. Through some trial and error I present to you the Wizard formula for matboard corners if you should ever find yourself in a similar position.
I am on the oldest Wizard model and using MatDesigner so things are a little antiquated but we make it work. I basically cut four squares on one layer then taped over the seams so the second pass could cut the inner bevel without getting stuck, all normal bevel cut from back. Voila, 4 identical samples, two sets for the shop and two for our outdoor salesman. Pictures attached to show the setup and dimensions. Thanks for looking, have a great weekend :)))))

We have made 4 designs for cutting replacement mat samples on our Wizard Z1.
Basically without or with bevel (requires extra step after), and rounded edge or not for oversize.

We have to replace "white" mat samples fairly often.
Not sure why the CMC companies don't have it installed as a standard.

I have an 8000, which does not do straight cut, and I wouldn't want the outside edges of the samples to be bevelled (papercut waiting to happen), so if I have to make a new sample I just square it up and cut the bevels on my old C+H. I suppose I could do it on the Wizard and just make the width a little larger than needed, and then straight trim the outsides to size. That might actually be a good way to make corner samples having shaped openings.

Not being cut a straight bevel is the main reason we upgraded from the 8000.
If it's going in a frame, no one cares if the outside is beveled.
If is going in a display bag, our artists don't want a beveled outside.
We have one artists that will order 1-2 hundred mats at a time of a few different sizes.
