Hello, folks. Rookie situation, but when vacuum mounting a glossy poster stock on Mount-Core board I found a bump. The poster stock is fairly stiff and left some air aound it. What can I realistically do? Many thanks and have a great weeked!

It depends on your surgical skills. If there is a grain of dust in the bubble, you can take an x-acto knife and puncture the paper to extract the mote. The poster should flatten if you put it back in the press. I've done it, but I was not happy about it. There's no guarantee it will work. The only other solution is to unmount the poster and start over again. But, again, there's no guarantee.

Check into the replacement cost of the poster.
If it's less that the shop's hourly rate, go for it.

Mount Core is not designed to be reversible and the solvents nessary to achieve that are volatile and toxic and may well damage the poster.

Alternative surgery is to come in through the back. Locate the mote by using an insect pin trying not to puncture the poster (wrap tape around it to limit the depth). Once found, excavate using a scalpel without penetrating the poster itself. Does it sound like fun yet?
