Glass/Styrene/Acrylic sheets -- 8x10

Hello,

We are looking for a good supplier of acrylic and glass sheets. Has anyone dealt with professionalplastics.com? I was hoping to find stuff a little cheaper -- they want $1.15 for regular acrylic and around $25-$30 to ship 40 sheets.
Are those prices normal, or are they high?

I'm not as concerned about quality as I am of price -- we got a quote request from a customer who needs cheap frames, so thin styrene or acrylic is fine. We need 40 sheets. Does anybody know of a good supplier (or does anyone have any they'd like to sell).

What about glass? I will be shipping these so I'd like to avoid glass, but if it is a lot cheaper, I may go for it.

If you can cut the plexi yourself you can get it all out of one 4' x 8' sheet.
If you can get the 4' x 8' sheet locally and cut it yourself, that's about as cheap as you can get it and no shipping.
Otherwise the approximately $2.00 per sheet (including shipping) is not that bad.

I have lots of cut offs that I can cut to 8 x 10. It is Plaskolite .118 film masked.

Thanks for the replies. Any particular brand that is the best, or are they all about the same? Any brand that is particularily poor quality?

Any frameshop that regularly uses plexi will have leftovers (scrap) that are 8 X 10.

You may try to find someone online here who has a shop near you, that would be willing to cut the pieces you need for far less.
