Hi there all

I was hoping you fine people might be able to help me. I see a few of you have the same machine, a cassese 810, and are a friendly bunch with lots of knowledge.

I have just set up a workshop but my machine has just gone down.
I put my foot on the peddle and the air just came out, and out and out. The air escapes from under the shuttle return valve inside the casing. I have manually pressed the valve back into its desired position, this stops the air escaping, but the poxy thing will not return itself. The v-nails will protrude but with no intent of being hammered into the mouldings.

Any ideas for this newbie Brit would be GREATLY appreciated.

Thank you for reading this far at least!

Larson Juhl services these, call 1 800-627-1401, ask for John. ;)

Yeah, John has all the answers. Parts for the 810, I have found, are not cheap. I just ordered a replacement trigger which cost 202 dollars american. A few months ago I had a simular problem and had to replace the main airblock, forgot what it's really called, that went for around 380 bucks. Expensive but great machine! Love it.

When you get the replacement trigger it may look very different. They told me that the original trigger is no longer available. I was able to attach the trigger but needed an additional washer to make it work. It took a little getting used to as now it extends out to the side instead of being right on the post but it works just fine.

It sounds like the foot switch needs to be replaced. Mine had the same symptom. Active Sales described it as "internal seals are bad". A new foot switch can be purchased through them. (link) I was fortunate and found a switch on eBay for under $50. The tricky thing is finding one with the proper tubing. I happened upon an Italian switch and the metric tubing was a match! So I saved over $100 on my overhaul just with the pedal. The toughest part was the release of the old tubes under the distributor. Good luck!

Hi again
Thanks for your tips, I shall work with them tommorow.
You guys are great.

Hi again
I have been told it might be the piston if its not the shuttle return casing, the shuttle's internals do seem intact.
The machine is meant to be a work horse, maybe its just a little lame; I much prefer the foot-switch problem...
Thanks my friends
