Memories of Maine Gallery
I have had this for over 50 years but haven't used it for the last 22 years as I bought a new Fletcher-Terry CMC. It is the F6100 but after using it for 22 years it died on me. The computer doctor told me that it was too old and they don't make parts for it anymore. So there it sits in my frame shop and I am forced to go back to my C & H mat cutter. I am having a hard time cutting mats with it as the blade won't stay put. It slides in at the second cut. I decided I need a new Head but can't find one anywhere. The rest of my C & H is fine. I am too old to purchase another CMC at 81 years old but I still work full time and have a 4500 hundred square foot building that is my gallery and I do custom framing. I have no intention of retiring yet. Can you help me find a HEAD for my C & H?

You might not actually need a whole new head. There could be something worn or out of adjustment in the blade holder. Can you take it apart and examine it to see what is causing the blade to slip? You might find a manual for this machine in the Grumble's manuals library.

You may just need to install a shim in the head.
If you have an instruction manual, you may have some shims with it.
If not, a piece of tape may work as a shim.
