Browser Lagging Finishing Loading Web pages

I'm using Firefox on an M1 Mac. It seems as though lately when I click my bookmark link to go to certain web sites it starts loading the page but will not finish doing so unless I start the page loading over. This happens a lot on Facebook (I know...) and also on some govt. and financial sites, such as Payments Insider (where I download my monthly CC processing statements).

Anyone else experiencing this lately?

I get that sometimes on an old Windows 10 pc (the one im on now, at he shop. The replacement is sitting next to it. It only happens just after I boot up, for the first 5 minutes. I figured maybe it has to do with the a/v software checking for/applying updates, but who knows. I made sure there were no bad plug ins or extensions.
