Hi all,

Just looking into going to the show at pier 94 in NYC on oct 15-17 but am having trouble in finding out who will be displaying there. (Besides the usual weirdos that hang out by the piers)

The website doesn't give any details and can find no other info.

OK just found a partial list but it wasn't easy.

Anyone going. Most of my local reps haven't heard of it and none of their companies are going to be there.

I want to go because the last few Javitz center shows left much to be desired and I am hoping this one replaces it.

Who's up?

This one doesn't seem related to PPFA, PFM, or Decor. One more player in a crowded market?

JB - I'm guessing this show will also leave a lot to be desired. Pretty spotty promotion to vendors and distributors so I haven't really heard much about it. I get a mailing about every two months.

The Art & framing Showcase is doing very well.
Buyers are registering on a daily basis. I really can't believe what I have read here. "Spotty promotion" You have got to open your mail, read the trade papers and onpen some of your emails.A "crowded market place" Well is it crowded when you look at what NY has become over the past several years! Talk about "spotty promotion" www.artandframingshowcase.com is where you will find the full exhibitor list and where buyers are registering (free) Yes, the vendor list is not as big as we would like it but the names there are the ones the buyer needs to see.
Going back to the piers and the timing is getting the interest of the buyer. There is plenty of affordable parking on show site and the weather is a heck of a lot better then FEB. In addition we are open on Sunday and Monday. Can the other show claim the same? Let's face it all shows have become regional events, we are just the first to promote it that way. Buyers buy when there is a need. It's their season to shop and stock their stores for the holidays. Need more info call me 314-336-2700 ex. 4.

Al, welcome to the Grumble! You made your introduction (is was, right?) with some interesting points. Allow me to add a few.

I have been to many shows produced by Al's employer George Little Mngmt. , and have always had a good experience. This includes shows that are many, many times bigger than ours will (start out to) be. I like dealing with GLM, when I went to the site that Al linked, they all ready knew who I was and had my staff info. Click, and I'm registered.

Aside from any and all potential hub-bub about this show, the bottom line is that for GLM to be interested, they must see an industry that is not getting the show it deserves. There have been many complaints posted here about other shows. So there is some kind of need, and GLM may feel that they can address it.

Look at the types of shows they have - many cater to creative and design industries, others to service industries. Maybe there is something they can share with us about how those industries are doing business.

Oh, and Jb - it's not THOSE piers. Sorry to break it you this way, but for a few bucks in cab fare . . . ;)

We are looking forward to the show. Gryphon moulding will be showing a full size booth with the entire line. (maybe even some show specials)

Phil~

The site alferrentino points to is very helpful to register but is a bit dificult to easily find a vendor list.

GLM has put on very good gift shows at the Javitz center in NYC so I am looking forward to their take on framing.

Grumbler designation colors?

C-ya there.

FrameTek will be there with bells on! This new show will probably have some familiar overtones from the old Frame-O-Rama shows of the past as some of the show managers (Bill Cotner and Gary Goldman) are running this new show. Those old shows were always well attended and were profitable for both the suppliers and suppliees (Great show discounts on stuff you already buy and specials on NEW stuff. Stop by the FrameTek booth to see our new products or just to say hello.
