Happy New Year everyone. About four years ago had a rust leak welded. Tank started to leak again, I was going to inquire about tank replacement, but found oil was also leaking from the tank. I had noticed oil smell when exhausting the tank. I'm pretty sure some one has had a similar experience, so I am asking what have your solutions been. Let me add that I have a another, cheaper, job site compressor. If I do nothing with the Bambi is there any sale value as is? Thanks and looking for a great 2021.

The oil based compressors are designed to go for the LONG haul. (ours SilentAire is 13 years old, and will last much longer I hope) That's what you'll find in dentists offices, etc. They are about as loud as a refrigerator or water cooler.

They don't have a lot of parts, and are usually easy to repair yourself. We replaced a check valve recently on ours, and she is like new again.

That said, there shouldn't really be oil leaving the compressor into the tank. (very little) The condition of the tank concerns me a bit, and it may be good to ask the vendor about that as well.

Bambi is a UK product, but you could email them to find out their US distributors. Youtube is also a great resource for walk through repairs, and often Ebay or Amazon are great for parts - once you have diagnosed it.

Thanks for the info Mike, going to contact them and take it from there. Found some history on the Bambi, was bought new in 1989 for about $800.00 . I have owned it for about 14 years, 31 years old, wow. Don
 
All of those non Chinese compressors (Italy, Germany, UK) are built to last.

If you decide it isnt worth repairing, 31 years isn't bad! :)
