Just wondering if anyone with a Fletcher, C&H or Platinum Edge mat cutter has noticed the mat guide warping. And if so, how did you fix it. Mine (Platinum Edge 850) has a slight bow that allows the slip sheet to go under the mat guide. I hope it’s just tightening something; any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Have you checked the table it is on for complete, level support? I know with some of the older style mat cutters, the base being level and flat was critical for good cuts, but I'm not all that familiar with that model other than it was originally offered by the company that made the Phaedra saw bench measuring system, and it looked like a well built piece of equipment. It may be the bed bowing away from the guide bar, as opposed to the other way around. Have you put a straight edge on both to see just which is the culprit?

Thanks for your response. I use a 4‘ level to make sure the work table is level. The mat cutter has an aluminum base and is stored flat. Based on this I assumed the mat cutter would be level; of course we all know what assume means. I’ll check the base to make sure it’s level. Great suggestion and thanks again.
