Hello! I am based in B.C., Canada. Does anyone know of a reputable sharpener in Canada? Where do Canadians get their Morso/Hansen blades sharpened?

Look for industrial sharpening services. Such as those in the paper printing industry and those who sharpen Zamboni machine blades and should have experience in hollow (concave) grinding.

I've heard good things about The Edge Sharpening on the south Island. Supposedly a lot of their employees came from another prominent sharpening company whose management practices went downhill. So you really have to ask around because the biggest company might not be the best. You don't want to ruin a stick of expensive moulding because of a lousy sharpening job.

Hi Jarlok - I too am based in British Columbia, Canada. I get all my sharpening done at European Sharpening in the lower mainland.

Jessica is the liaison lady to speak to. I use them for my cutter blades. I do bookbinding as well as picture framing and they do a fabulous job on my German triumph cutters. Very inexpensive compared to other companies and service is incredibly fast.

Cheers

We also have used The Edge Sharpening on the south Island and been happy with them. Just saw blades at this point. Unsure what their whole repertoire would be. Probably depends too, where in BC you are as getting things shipped would be a question to know.

Also The Edge.
We have a monster guillotine cutter used for paper (not framing) with a 21" blade.
They did an excellent job regrinding a badly dinged blade to working like brand new.
Also sharpened a set of saw blades for our CTD mitre saw.
