Having an issue adjusting the cutting block on an old Morso F. The machine is new to me, but everything seems to be adjusted correctly, but the knives are still a 1/4 inch from back fence. Obviously I'm missing something, just don't know what. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I've followed the manual and YouTube videos, but I'm still stymied.

Can you post a picture of what the issue is?

I have had loose pieces of moulding get trapped underneath the bed, preventing the head from moving fully inward for the final cut.

Are you able to get the adjustment arm into the final detent?

Okay, here's my dilemma. I did make sure nothing was caught up underneath as well. Thanks

Move cutting head as far forward as possible then Slacken Nut (14) then rotate the offset cam (15) the rotating of the cam will adjust the final cut position, tighten nut to lock the new setting.
* do not over adjust as it is possible the blades could make contact with the steel fences

It's possible that the cam will not give enough motion. If that's the case, first adjust the cam to approximately the middle of its range. Then, with the handle (13) in the final cut position, loosen the bolts that attach it. That should give you enough slack to pull the head tight to the fence. Tighten the bolts and then use the cam to make the fine adjustment.

For this adjustment go to the section entitled "Tight but not too tight".

Thank you, I will try these suggestions soon.

So, after a few hours of frustration, I found that the previous owners must have changed the position of the bolts on detent which also seemed to bend the bolt. Fixed those issues and was back in business in 15inutes! Even though it was frustrating that's one of the reasons I love framing, problem solving!

We've had a Morso out of service for a while, but I'm thinking of starting to use it again. Does anyone have a recommendation for sharpening service?

That is the primary attraction for many of us. Congrats on getting your Morso tuned up.
