Has anyone had any experience with the payment side of the Lifesaver POS? I'm trying to get everything set up & feel it shouldn't be this hard?
Was your card reader set up for you before sending or did you go through "training"? Have you had any issues integrating the system with your bank account?
I'm just having a hard time finding out info on my own.

Glad to answer any questions.

Our shop (and the Grumble) was the first shop to go live and test it in January.

I figured it out before the training session. You log in to the portal where you can add your terminal(s). It gives 3 random words on the terminal that you type into the portal to link them together, and the account info is also put in to your lifesaver cloud settings area.

Portal is at: https://payments.lifesaversoftware.com/ LifeSaver: Login
Go to account -> profile -> terminals -> add terminal (if you didnt already do so)
note: Terminal type is likely P5

In Lifesaver cloud, settings are in:
store configuration -> credit card processor
You'll want to make sure LIFESAVER PAYMENTS is selected, your account number is in the ACCOUNT NAME field. (ours is 5 digits)
You can add your terminal or terminals on that screen too, give it a name (front counter, counter 2, etc) and enter the TERMINAL ID in the right box. (note this is "ID" in the left box in the portal list of terminals)

They will likely walk you through all this by phone, taking only a few minutes.

Thank you! those are very understandable directions. Not being sarcastic, I promise.
Trying to add my bank info to lifesaver payments was a problem. The system kept glitching and I kept getting the processing "wheel of death". I gave up & tried again the next day & it went through.
The portal keeps adding my husband's name as the account holder even though everything else says my name...lol. I'll work that out later.
AND the rep never called for our walk through. I called both Lifesaver and RainPOS and the people I talked to left messages for the rep but no one got back to me. I signed up for another session on Monday. TODAY is my soft opening day and so far I haven't made a sale, which is good because unless it's cash, I can't take a deposit. I believe this will all get straightened out eventually :)
 
What are the credit card processing fees for LSS Cloud using their credit card terminal? They claim to have "transparent, low-cost pricing with no hidden fees" but don't seem to list their processing fees on their site without submitting information for a sales rep contact.
 
I think it's one of those things you negotiate, during the process. It depends on your volume, etc.

We saved a bunch from what we were paying from the previous provider, the rates quietly crept up after they were bought out.

Ours was the first Lifesaver shop to go live, I believe, in January. Our shop was one of the beta test sites, before it went public.

It's nice that you don't have to double key the information, and less prone to errors. It knows the card type and amount from Lifesaver Cloud, and all you have to do is wave the card over the terminal. The approval comes back in about a second or two, and tells Lifesaver the result. (You dont enter anything into the terminal) The terminal has a color touch screen and a built in receipt printer, much like the Square product.
