I was given six Delft tiles on which to fit a hanging system. Since my clients have been educated to believe I can do anything  , I'd like some suggestions past mine, if I may ask y'all for them. There's to be no frame involved; the backs are normal tile backs: in other words, not much, especially metal, will stick to them. I'm thinking of Moorman suede stuck to the back with some type of glue and ATG, and a very small cord threaded through holes punched in the Moorman. I'm thinking the thread or cord would be secured by the Moorman and still allow flexibility (maybe NOT a good idea) for the hanging from a brad. Any ideas? Thanx.

Forgot to add that conservation is not such an issue and that the tiles are about 6" x 6".

How about plate holders? They can be bent around a little to fit. I like to use shrink tubing from Radio shack on the ends to help prevent chipping. A little dob of hot melt glue on the back to keep the holder in place wouldn't be out of line either.

Cathie, how about using mastic (you know, that adhesive made for sticking tiles to walls and other surfaces) to attach the hanger to the back of the tile? LJ sells a 2" wide plastic sawtooth that might work.

Would self sticking Velcro work if you went all around the tile? Mount to a fabric? I would think you could attach velcro to porcelain in a manner that would not fail.

Some great ideas: thanx tons. Wish I could use plate hangers, but of course, the client wants to see nothing around the tiles. That mastic for tiles is a good idea, Kit, and actually if it sticks the things to the wall, why not the hanger? Duh?

The G is so helpful. (As an aside and no warping intended, is anyone watching Annika besides us golfers?)

Bond 57, I think that is the corred name. It will stick metal or anything else to the tile. Be patient while it dries.
