I have an upcoming project in which I need to frame a flat screen LED Tv. My question is where to find the best selection on stackable mouldings, since my main supplier (Framer's Inventory) is thin in this category. 2" minimum depth for a single moulding is needed, but I've also heard about attaching any moulding to a deeper box (as long as the moulding is similar in finish and color)but can't seem to locate any info on how its done.

Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks Framers!

You should really repost this on the main part of the Grumble, this area is pretty slow and really for tips of the trade sharing, like making cooffe filter holders out of corner samples. Try searching online, Decor, Omega, International, Larson mouldings. Most need some kind of customization, such as, making the rabit wider.

Are you considering cooling requirements in your design? A deep frame will cut off circulation.

Try "Picture woods" company. Their molding is very simple, but true wood product. You can connect different depts for a shadowbox frame. My suggestion, if you need an opening for circulation, is to have the connection dept of the frame on the bottom and sides and maybe leave the top open {depending on the design and height of tv). Good-luck!

If all you need is 2" there are alot of options to use that wont invlove you stacking. I did a TV last week which I used studio moulding #35048. It is a 2 3/4" moulding from the Grano collection. Have you looked at Studi, Larson or Omega? All 3 have several frames in the 2" size and up that may work.
