I apologize for asking the same question twice. I can't find the thread on the metal flip up frames and their source. I need 48-52 frames to install before Jan 15. Client wants security hangers, and the ability to change out staff photos in the mat and titles in the title windows. No glass in this facility--regular acrylic will do.

We have scheduled the job using a Designer metal, our poster frame. The frames are small--about 8 x 11. They like the thin metal look, but cost is a factor thus the poster frame. We plan to install with security hangers and have the installer show them how to remove them and put them back up as staff change warrant new photos. We have done this before but it never seems like the ideal solution.

Has anyone actually used the flip up type frames in a quantity installation with success? Do they look good? Sorry to ask for the link again. Terrible time of year to try to sort out a rush job like this. At least they don't need it by Jan 2, our original due date.

Thanks!

Designer Metal frames has the spring hardware where you can flip up the top rail. The flip top rail will probably interfere with security hardware.

The frame rail hinges work nicely, but you have to remove the frame from the wall first, as the flip-rail opens to the back.

You could use FrameSecure hangers by FrameTek. They come in sets of four, easy to install using their 'marker bullets', and the one on the flip-rail would help to hold it tightly closed. Remove the frame from the wall and re-install it with a credit card, not a special tool.

I saw your other thread and wasn't able to get time to reply so this may not be applicable. Over the past few years we have purchased probably close to 200 of the Fast Change Frames for a very large local company which has shipped them all over the world. They chose a size that worked with their graphics which they update regularly and they have been very pleased with them. Fast Change Frames have been really great to work with and I recommend them.

Jim, after the client gets the picture off the wall and flips up the rail, don't they still have to take out the spring clips in order to remove the matted art? By that time they may as well get a screwdriver and undo two corners. Or is there something I am not understanding? I have written to Greg for some FrameTek security samples.

Thanks for the suggestion.
