Anyone have or know of a supplier that has a cheap readymade poster frame that can retail at 19.95? I have one but the most recent price increase has me retailing closer to 29.95.

Cheap acrylic that the sides slide on and off with a masonite backing is what I am looking for, size 24 x 36
 
I too have been thinking of adding some cheap poster frames, but not that cheap. I am looking for something in a metal that I can retail around $40 for a 24x36.

Neilsen actually has some of those "flimsy" metal witht he preasure clips in the back and just about that suggested retail. Not bad wholesale pricing either.

Can't help witht he plastic though.
 
My concern about backloaders has always been hanging them. I wonder does Wallbuddies make a backloader version?
 
Dave, the ones that Cliff is talking about would not work with wallbuddies.

They do have a system where you put a metal hanger through a slot in the masonite backing so it can hang either way. They come in Black, Silver and Gold. I retail them for 37.95 but I am not sure what type of price increases they have had in the past year.

Artfolio, if you could make a couple thousand dollars more a year and do basically no work for it would you??? There are many here that sell readymade frames, this is one type of readymade that people do purchase, they can do it with me or they can go to the big box, where they may buy their art or higher quality framing. Why would I want them to go somewhere else?
 
Yep, those are the ones. I retail 'em for 39.99.

I don't think the price has changed, but I believe they dropped the silver and gold and only have black now.
 
Do you get these from Neilsen direct or do you distributors carry them?
I haven't seen a N/B rep since the shake up last year.

The 18 x 24 are #FA2121A They come 3 to a pack and the "Suggested List Price is $42.00
They are only in black now.

I buy through my Nurre account number.

They also have an 18 x 24 Black wood (with the "turnbuttons" that hold the back under a lip?) that has a suggested retail of $36.00

Not bad for junk frames.
 
Tracey Chop Service in CA (TCS) makes a good wood line. They have lots of profiles and colors, but we only carry black, real maple, and sometimes walnut or mahogany stains in a simple stem profile in all sizes from 8 x 10 to 30 x 40. We have a big artist clientele who buy them, but lots of other customers buy them as well. 3-4 week turnaround. They are swamped with orders and we are often out of certain sizes because of the long turnaround time. But we like the product and are willing to wait. We just have to order ahead and hope we don't run out of sizes, which we always do. You can make up some lost custom sales revenue by adding mats, UV glass, etc. You certainly lose some custom business when you introduce a ready made line like this, but then, you can gain some business that might have gone to a BB instead.

There is also a poster source (I think Posterservice or OSP) that sells them, too

No, we have the same clients, just others as well. If I were in most framers shoes, I wouldn't carry them either. We need traffic and a wider profile of clientele to make these work

Tim, we are just doing things that work for us
