We are in process of starting a new business that plans to sell framed art prints wholesale to local businesses. Until we have a web site we'd like to have a "catalog" of art prints to use on our laptops, offline.

What sources (mid-Atlantic preferred) offers their prints in digital form.. with info (price, artist, stock number etc) included? We do not want any watermarks, company logos etc. as this could cause our business customers to want to buy direct.

Has anyone had any experience doing same? Pointers??

Suggestions please????

Thanks much,
Bonnie

Being a non-established business I would guess that most, if not all, publishers are going to be very hesitant to give you digital images of their art prints. Everything is copyrighted and even someone like myself (17yrs in the biz) still has to get permission to use an image from most publishers.

Your best bet would to contact Liebermans and ask about their Art Explorer DVDs. THey have not been updated for a year and since there has been a change of ownership I don't know if they wiill be updating but it's worth a call.

Perhaps you can start with some classic (without copyright problems) arts prints or painting reproductions. Then gradually ask for some contemporary prints. Or you can gather some material of your own for your prints such as scenery, abstract...
