Hi All,

Sam here. Yeah I know long time no hear.

Back in Australia now. Have a few ideas on how to start in business here.

My question is when I was in the States we used something called Z-Gel I think. U no the stuff you put on paper prints to make em look like oil paintings?? Does anyone know where that stuff came from and if one could get it or something similar here in Australia? The stuff I can get my hands on here is Impasto which is similar but inferior as when it gets hot the stuff goes tacky again.

Thanks for help in advance?

Sam

The generic term for that product is acrylic gel. Most art supply stores in the USA have it on the self next to acrylic medium and similar painters' supplies.

Liquitex gel medium is what I use. Well, actually I am using the last of the Createx gel medium but they don't make that any more, so don't use it...

Is Z Gel less tacky than Liquitex? I know I've had issues with artists that embellish with Liquitex and other craft store brands.

Nope. Z-Gel is gel acrylic medium. Puzzle Saver is the more liquidy acrylic medium. It's all acrylic stuff. There are some craft quality ones and some higher grade professional quality ones. But Hey! They may all come out of the same vat in some third world country for all I know...
