If you, like me, have a Phaedra Chronomat, you probably have been worried (or maybe not - these things are built like a tank) about future service and parts since Phaedra Framing is no longer in business.

Good News. Logan has purchased the Chronomat and is selling it.

Look at this tread. (http://thegrumble.com/showthread.php?t=50003 ) Paul just sold several of the Model 860 60" Chronomats made by Logan.

Here is the Logan page showing the Chronomat 850 (40" Model) http://www.logangraphic.com/products/boardmounted/platinumedge.shtml. The 860 (60") isn't on the web site but since Paul was selling some test models, it looks like they are available. Googling the 860 finds many sources to buy it.

Here is the manual for the 850; http://www.logangraphic.com/manuals/english/850.pdf

and here is the parts list for the 850: http://www.logangraphic.com/parts/850parts.pdf

That is great news for Chronomat uses. I have a 60" that is now a backup for my Wizard and I really really like it.

Kind of funny though how a top of the line cutter now carries a lower line name brand. Hopefully Logan keeps the same high quality standard. I do like the bright red - black - Alum. finish on mine. The new color scheme, is well, boring.

I saw that thread on the Commercial forum and wondered about the reference myself. I always admired the Phaedra Chronomat cutter, and was considering buying one to replace my venerable C+H, but got a Wizard instead. As to color, I guess Logan wants a consistent look across their product line. Phaedra had ben offering a deluxe model with colorfully anodized parts and a decorative mat guide. That's the one I wanted. It'd be a collector's item now.
;) Rick
