I will not be able to repond to or post on TFG or any other forum ,except in the early mornninghours or very late at night.Don't all sigh at once.LOL

My shop computer ( which is older and having some problems, has gone into "SAFE MODE" and I can't find a way to extract it. so until I can get a friendly Computer Geek over to the shop,I am unable to repond during shop time regaudless of how slow it may get there. So hopefully you can enjoy the lessening of my mindless banter and I will have my old Gateway fixed or replaced soon.Enjoy the short vacation.

Many times when this happens, you can shut down your computer and restart. Watch the monitor screen for a choice selection to move it off of safe mode (usually 3.) which is only available for a few seconds (1.2.3. list of options). Try this is you haven't gotten the guru there yet.

Sister i have AOl and it has Auto Fix I am trying to resolve the problemwith it. it has saud that my screen resolution isn't at it's optimum( 600X800 pixels, that is a fairly good description of what "Safe Mode" does.It seems to have partially and temporarily improved the problem.

The suggestion you gave was tryed by continually pressing the F8 key and returning to the selection screen .However nothing changed anything .This is a purely image problem .I can sign on ,the image is just very FUZZY. also nothing says it is in safe mode it just operates as though it is.
But thanks .I think I am close to restoreing the problem and the friend ( a true Computer tech) may arrive tommorrow.

Unfortunately ya'll's vaction has been shorten /interupted a bit.LOL

Buddy,

In the mean time, if it is a screen rez problem try this.

Right click the desktop (in an icon free area) pop up box should say "arrange icons by...." type stuff. Click on properties. Goto settings. Where it says 600X800 or 640X480 try to increase the resolution size.

My kids have some older games they play and they always wreak havoc with the screen settings.

I may be back in operation. AOL may have some good features( Auto Fix)I'll let yall know when I sign back on.

Auto Fix seems to have diagnosis the problem correctly and fixed it as well.

However Bob Doyle's suggestion seems as though it would have worked also. Thanks to all for the suggestions.
