In my previous location, I chopped fillets on my miter saw, which was conveniently located next to the mat-cutting room. In the new place the saw is in the basement ("dirty") location and the workroom is on the main floor ("clean" location). I'd like to have a fillet chopper in the main room so I don't have to go up and down to fit fillets. Anybody got something decent?

Thanks!

I use this: http://www.leevalley.com/en/wood/page.aspx?p=32922&cat=1,42884.

Been using it for years. Clunky, poorly made, overpriced, and the blades are very hard to remove. Almost the opposite of what the description claims, but it somehow does the job.

I've got one of those... it's definitely not what I'm looking for! Those things are meant to true up an already-cut miter by shaving off a hair's worth of material. They're not meant to cut *through* anything.

Call Paul & Lynn Grecian at 800-881-8334 since they may still have the unused ITW/AMP filet cutter I traded to them.

You can buy that miter trimmer from Grizzly for about $175. http://www.grizzly.com/products/G1690
I have one and for personal use you can't beat it. You still have to miter first and use this to trim it. I don't think that would eliminate the stairs but it sure does a great job for what it does.

I have an "Art Mac" fillet chopper for sale

Located in zip code 75028 (Texas)

$150/ offer plus the actual cost of shipping
