would you stretch a silk screen printed on canvas?

I have customer coming back tomorrow to place his order. He has a silk screen that has been printed onto a thin type of canvas, would you recommend stretching? The bottom only has about 1/4" and it is medium size. What do you think?

Stretching can be a misnomer sometimes.

I would approach the project with stretcher bars. Only pull the canvas tight enough to remove any wrinkles.

With really thin canvas you can actually pull the weave open enough to see through it. Or even worse, rip it.

Also, the ink on many silkscreens can be easily cracked. Very very gently,slowly and carefully are good watchwords.

I would be concerned about cracking the ink or damaging the canvas.

Rather than stretching the fabric itself, I suggest basting its edges to a piece of washed muslin that has been stretched over a strainer frame.
