I am looking for a wood-based stand to hold a 12x15 plaque in an almost upright position. This would sit on a desk. (It has same purpose as an easel back.)The groove to place it in needs to be 1". I hope Iam discribing this properly. I have searched some suppliers, but no luck thus far.

Why don't you just screw on an Easel Mate. Available from United and other suppliers.
