This is the first time we have tried our 8000 to cut color core mats. Is there a special method of cutting so that the core will show on both the bevel edge and v-grooves? It seems their instructions indicate that you will get a reverse bevel - defeating the use of color core matts. There must be a trick that we're just not seeing. :help:

Thanks! Darth and his better half!

Are you using add a vgroove or are you using template?
Add a vgroove the bevel will show unless you indicate in properts reverse bevel
The 800 series templates have regular v groove and reverse bevel templates

I will check that out when the master cmc user gets up this morning. So, if you pick out the standard temp (say 808) and add a v groove you do get a reverse bevel? That has to be what she was trying. Then, if you just set up regular opening - you then hit add a v groove and it does it's thing. All you have to do is ask someone with the experience.
Thank you. John and Cutter Karen

The V-Groove is a combination of a reverse and a regular bevel cut from the face of the mat at a cutting depth that doesn't penetrate the mat. The aperture is also cut from the face so it is essentially cutting a reverse bevel there as well. The color of the core shouldn't matter (white or colored, both will show). Get some scrap and experiment. When I need a v-groove, I select the template, enter the dimensions and then select add a v-groove. You then need to mess with the parameters of the v-groove (width and distance from the aperture).

Thanks so much for the information. We delivered the projects yesterday and they loved the blue and purple cores with the white cover. The cores brought out the colors of the jockeys racing silks.
