I'm trying to update the prices from Retail Management (I know LJ and other vendors have updates overdue for me to update) and the content updater is unable to connect to the host at wizard.
"Could not connect to server - authorization failed"

I tried to go to the website to call them for customer support, but their website isn't working either.
"Oops! Google Chrome could not find www.wizardint.com Try reloading: www.#wizardint.#com"

I found their number listed on google, and called but it must be outside their hours currently, as no one is answering.

I know Wizard reads the board occasionally. Wizard, please let me know if/when content will be back online for me to update my POS program. Thank you.

Yes I can verify that it is temporarily down. It'll probably be fine if you try again, in an hour.

ISPs and uplinks have issues like that sometimes. It happens often to this forum, in fact, due to weather issues.

Actually it IS up.

If I access it from my Verizon (FIOS) account, it seems to be pointing to some dnsassist page at Verizon.

If I access it from my COX (CABLE) account, it comes up fine.

Are you on Verizon FIOS (or DSL, if still available in your market) as an ISP? If so, it's possible that they (verizon) are having temporary troubles with their dns server.

Thanks Mike for confirming.

I don't update my POS often, nor call them, so wasn't sure if this was a prolonged thing, or just coincidental timing.

Actually a minute later it is back up now.

Mike

Mike can you reconfirm it's up?

Its still down, trying with two different browsers as well as with POS update.

Wondering if your cache is bringing it up.

(See post above also, which you may have missed. I modified it)

From Verizon it shows with ip 199.101.28.20

From Cox it shows with ip 66.201.97.177

So either Verizon has something wrong with its DNS server temporarily, or the site was moved to a new server overnight - and hasnt had time to properly propagate yet.

Are you on Verizon?

It's not a cache thing, I can click links to areas I have never been, and it responds. Their server is up and running.

Mike

I'm on xfinity/comcast (verizon in my area only has dsl). I went into CMD and I'm pinging other websites fine with 0% loss. When I ping wizardint.com its unable to find it "Ping request could not find host...". If its a slow connection, it would at least register as 100% loss (slow connection) but this is looking like its not even there. Peculiar.

When I first tried it right after I read the first post, it was down. Now it's up and the IP is 66.201.97.177.

Thank you Chris for asking the questions about our Service hours and pointing out that the website was not working.

Wizard Customer Service hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., PST. If you call in before or after these hours please select to go to the Customer Support extension and leave a message. People do come in early and check the messages and return calls before actual hours noted.

Yes, the website was down briefly. We are in the process of making changes to our website and we plan for no disruptions, but best laid plans can hit bumps. Content server should also be available.

The Customer Service team always recommends doing software updates earlier in the week so we can help with any problems that arise. Chris has done just that and he should have everything that he needs at this time.

Dani, thank you for the update. Indeed, I am now able to update pricing via your server. Cheers! Chris
