our shop recently got a wizard 8000 w/ 5.0 mat designer. i had hoped to take the software cd home in order to design mats at my leisure---save them to a floppy and use them at work. however the cd wont run. whats the problem do you think? thanks grumblers---in advance...

The CD should autoplay after you put it in the drive and launch the setup screen, but if it's not then there could be a few things going on. </font>
  • How old is the computer you're attempting to install the software on? Some older CD drives, around 5 or 6 years ago or more, have difficulties with recordable CDs (CDRs) which is what we use.</font>
  • It could be just a bum CD - you can check by sticking it in the Wizard computer and see if it launches.</font>
  • It could be that autoplay is just turned off on the PC - try going to the start menu, click "Run" and then type "D:\INSTALL" (where "D" is the letter of your CD drive)</font>
Once you do get it going, you'll need to call and get a new CD key from us so you can activate the software at home.

Hope that helps...
