I've inadvertently moved the rotating head on the Wizard (8500e) with the motors engaged. I've just tried to cut some more mats and it's clear the head doesn't know where it is, as it's not cutting true to the line of travel and snapping the blades. Is there a way of getting it back to true other than eyeing it in please.

Lay out a mat, any mat. Go to the cut screen and along the right hand side you'll see the Tools buttons. Click on the one with the green lightning bolt with the red circle and slash to cut power to the head.

Now it will be free to move, and when you cut a mat just follow the instructions to align the head.

NEVER try to align the head unless the Wizard tells you to do so.

This is probably not a disaster. Power it down and manually return the head to home.

Then, power down everything, controller & computer included. Then, restart the controller, then the computer.

Usually, this will take it back home. If that doesn't work, disconnect/reconnect the cables at each point.

If that doesn't do it, go to the Wizard software "configuration" screen, and restore settings you have recorded, or "restore defaults." I would restart it again if you do this.

If it still doesn't work, call Wizard tech support. They are very helpful. You are not the first and you won't be the last.

FramerDave, I completely forgot that you could free the head that way. That should probably be the first step. I think I would still power down and back up, though.
