I need Wizard help!! Their tech support is closed for the weekend.

I have a 32 x 32 mat to cut, so of course I am not having Wizard cut the outside. I unchecked the box that says "cut outside". When I cut the mat, it is way off to one side.

How can I get it to center the opening? I can't find anything in the manual that refers to this. I'll keep looking, but this project needs to get done this weekend. If I hadn't planned on a great cross-over V groove, I'd get out my ole' C & H & do it manually!

I know there's a simple solution that I'm missing :)

Thanks

I've aligned the cutting head, and rail dodge is checked. Is the measurement supposed to be what the border is? I messed around with the home alignment too. Probably should have left that alone till I knew what it really did, now it's REALLY off.

Any clues where in the manual to find help on this? I've tried every place that seemed logical to me.

Wizard online help may have the answer.

Try going to http://www.wizardint.com/index.cfm

If you register using your customer code and the number of your machine as a password you will find everything you need in the section on manuals. If I remember correctly your machine id is on the opening screen of the software.

I have only had a Wizard for a couple of weeks so can't come up with a solution but the guides might.

Or you can do a Quick And Dirty. Tape the leftover ( 1 1/2" approx) spacer from a previous "cut the outside" episode to the bottom and left (viewed from the back) of the board you want to cut. Tell the machine to Cut the Outside, and hit ABORT just before the machine starts to cut the outside after the inside has been cut.

All this assumes that you are getting a correct centering on the Cut the Outside option.

I use this method for when the scrap I have isn't enough bigger to accomodate the extra needed to cut the outside on a narrow mat.

Cookie, don't know where my head was! The rail dodge box should be "unchecked" or turned off. That is what I meant to say, but as I read this again this morning, I see that isn't what I typed.

Make sure "rail dodge" is off! Sorry if I added to the confusion.

Yes, I was about to mention the "rail dodge" thing---no check. I had this off center cut to happen just one time with my Wizard. I turned the powerpack off, restarted the computer, and did a new "Edit New Mat". That worked for me . . . good luck!
