I'm considering a Wizard. Does anyone know how much they want a month to lease at this time?

Wizard is one of three makers of computerized matcutting machines marketed in North America. All three offer purchase and lease deals that may be suitable for you. I suggest that you consider the attributes of all three brands before you decide which model you want.

Contact Wizard. they have a pretty active and friendly sales force. I know when I was thinking about a Wizard I heard from them quite a bit and they always seem to have a good deal going on. It's a good machine and although I never got a CMC theirs is high on my list should I get one.

Wizard has multiple lease programs, each with a different rate. The Junior program is the least expensive. We were on that for years, before I decided to move to the next program above that.

I second Larry's link. Check out Mike's page, it has a comparison chart, and Mike is very objective in the list. Others here could be more biased to their machine or to a company, Mike is pretty good at just getting the facts and figures but together.

Now, if you want to start a thread about "the best CMC" you will surely get more subjective answers! :)

Look at the list and contact the companies and search here about CMCs. There must be threads galore about the machines, tips and tricks, and using path trace and other programs associated with the different machines.

Once you get a CMC you can get help from their tech support and from other users here.

Moved to the CMC/Tech/Framing Equipment/Software forum, by Mike.

Please post tech stuff in that section, in the future

Thx
Mike

Customer service is the most important thing to look at before you purchase (lease) a machine. We were with Wizard for over 12 years but moved up to the Valiani. If you need direct help with a problem (Chuck or Chris) are only a call away, or the factory will make a direct connection by the internet. They also make house calls to your shop, not just send parts and notes for you to do the work. Having less machines is good because they treat you like family and want you to be happy. Depending on your needs all the machines have strong points and you need to look at the forum's past postings for what other framers like / dislike about each machine.

Where are you located piper?

Not much info on your profile page.

That may give you an idea about pricing but you should still call Wizard Monday for what programs they are offering.

Gumby I kind of was aluding to that. There is a set up fee and shipping costs and other 'one time' costs that Wizard and others tend to 'throw in' if 'you act now', 'but wait, there's more' offers also pop up around trade shows.

You can get an idea what it costs, but to truly know the current costs it is best to ask a rep. Hidden fees and set up costs can add up and shipping heavy expensive equipment is jot cheap. Find out what the shipper needs on your end, ie a loading dock or a crew of people to get the machine into your store. Find out the room needed to unpack. Chances are good it'll arrive on a rainy day so you want it inside asap ;)

They havent sent an update in a long time, for my list, so it could very well be different now. It's best to call the vendor, and ask them directly.

When I got my Wizard 8500, there were no hidden or setup fees. Shipping was very reasonable all the way from Washington State to NJ. The boxes are easy to unload from the truck and easy to handle with one or two people. I was younger then and moved it downstairs, unpacked, and put it up on the home made stand by myself.

My Valiani traveled from Italy to Ireland. ..

Like Pat there was no great difficulty getting it off the truck and set up in my case on the stand that came with it...my machine is the large 40 x 60"..

Transport cost was minimal. ... I did pay for installation which was my choice... I possibly could have done the installation myself with a bit of telephone support from one of the technical people at Valiani....there is really not a huge amount to settings up a Valiani. ..by no stretch would I consider myself very technical. ..

I will be moving it again soon... I am in the process of getting it back into action to make Archival Boxes.... I have built extra storage and work space for the box making.

We have a Wizard 9000 that we are selling. We have been the sole owners and used about 20 times. We have all accessories and are including the compressor and the hose. Let me know if you have any questions!
Thank you,
