Also have a new Phaedra Saw System I bought it but I never had time to put it together. $850

I take it this is a Wizard 5000. If I do that math, 300K corners at $0.05 per corner is $15,000. The standard W5000 lease requires that you purchase a minimum of 4000 corners per month. That would make this machine at least 6.25 years old if you never cut a single mat on it. What is its actual age and condition? How old is the computer? What version of software does it have on it? Photos please?

Do you know what Wizard's policy is on transferring a leases machine to a new owner? I do not think that you can "sell" this machine since you technically do not own it.

If Wizard will let you transfer the lease and you have all of the details in writing from them please let me know and I will help you place it. I have a customer looking for a machine like this right now.

Wizard corners are your alone.

I recently contacted Wizard about a similar situation. Wizard "gives" you the corners in exchange for your rent (or lease payment). The corners have no value and are not transferable.

We purchased the lease from another person therefore we recieved all the corners that went with it. So we are selling the lease. It is my understanding from wizard that you can transfer the lease which is what we did, and also upgrade the machine and still keep the same corners.

My questions still stand. What is the machines actual age and condition? How old is the computer? What version of software does it have on it? Photos please? Does Wizard have an "official" written policy on lease transfers or were they just in a good mood the day they did the deal with you previously?

Mark,

We have tried to contact Oxnam but have not been successful.

The CMC 5000 is 9 years old with MD 4.8.

But you need to know that this in not a lease but a month to month rental. The CMC is owned by Wizard International, Inc.

As you know, transfers are subject to the approval of Wizard and may not be approved. There is also a Transfer fee payable to Wizard upon our approval.

Also, upgrades to our CMC while maintaining status would include a substantial one time fee or additional monthly fees.

So, I am posting this to make sure everyone understands what is at stake when one of our customers tries to sell a CMC that they do not own. We do not support our customers trying to create value with their Wizard rental plan and then try to sell it to others.

Just to go on notice to everyone, before paying any monies to a person who claims to be a owner of a Wizard CMC. Please contact Wizard to validate their claim. Although we will not provide any information regarding the possible owner we will let you know if the CMC is a purchased CMC or one that is being rented and is the property of Wizard International, Inc.

Thanks for your understanding on this matter.

Thanks Rob,

That is exactly what I wanted - the "official" policy "in writing".

Can you give us more detail on this "... transfers are subject to the approval of Wizard and may not be approved. There is also a Transfer fee payable to Wizard upon our approval."

I apologize that we have been difficult to reach. I have been traveling and the past couple of days I have been working late in order to leave town again in about an hour. My wife had posted several things from our business. I apologize that my wife typed lease instead of rent.

Rob Clark - I do not appreciate that you imply that we have tried to deceive anyone or are dishonest. We received one call from your company and the last time I checked no one from your company is going to be there at midnight to talk to us. You make it sound like we are trying to sell the wizard which we are not and have not said anything close to that. As I understand it, the computer is mine. If someone said they would like to do the leg work on transferring the rental agreement (which is what I did originally), and arrange shipping, that would sound like a great offer. Gosh, I had hopes of raking in $20,000 on this. Again, not once did we say we were trying to sell it. If you want to BS these people into thinking that it is the exception that it can be transferred because it has a high corner count, fine. Don't do it at the expense of my reputation. Let's get some answers because you like to type so much, will you consider/allow someone to take over the rent agreement as we were allowed since you sound like you won't now?

We had to pay the tranfer fee of $250, pay $200 monthly and receive 4,000 corners. For this machine, it was the best deal we had seen. This is much cheaper than current offerings and I understand that you might like to see this contract die. Once again don't take shots at me because you would like to make a little more money on the next customer.

We benefitted from the transfer and I had hoped someone else would. I don't think that anything we wrote deserved your previous post. I have been happy with the cutter (more bells and whistles on the newer models though) and had previously thought that customer service was great. Luckily, the rest of the company treats customers and potential customers much better than Rob, the EVP of Operations.

I guess we await his response. I am leaving town, so I'll find out if I get trashed later. Sorry about the conflict fellow grumblers.

Dear Derrick,

I sincerely apologize that my previous post came across as a personal attack. It was certainly not my intent and I'm sorry that it came across in that way.

You are right; the rental transfer program is one of the best CMC deals around. This is an option to help current customers who are selling their business to add value to potential buyers, by enabling the buyer to continue to benefit from the previous owner’s long-term relationship with Wizard.

Again, I'm sorry that we got off on the wrong foot. At your convenience, I am happy to work with you to determine the best transfer options for you. Please contact me when you have time to discuss.

To my fellow Grumblers, I apologize for contributing to a unnecessary conflict on the forum.
