I been searching for recommendations on what's the best type of wire for attaching to frames. Do you determine it by frame weight? There are so many kinds available that I'm getting confused on what to carry. Can anyone give me some direction? I do prefer some kind of coated wire if that helps. I'm sure this is basic for most of you so please bear with me. Thanks!

Hard to beat ZerLon. I keep it in 4 sizes, 15lb, 20lb, 25lb, 40lb.

Bear in mind wire is just one of the options. For example I use a lot of WallBuddies in both sizes, a bunch of Z-Bar, and occasionally some other hanging systems.

As they say, horses for courses.

I have about 3 different sizes....... anything over a 40lb size wire you
shouldnt be using wire anyway!!!!

soooo get a small, medium, and heavy........ ;)

Tuflon from United in #4, #5, & #6. I use wire that is rated at 3 times the weight of the framed piece.

I think we use softstrand 3 or 4 and 8. Just a note, I once weighed a case of glass to be 64 lb and also weight a case of 40x60 foam board to be 64 lb too. So if something weights about as much as a case of glass, wire is not suggested.
