Why does this happen?

Yesterday my computer was doing what it usually does: work fine.

Today, it's still working fine. But I notice my Norton Antivirus icon on the bottom bar has a red circle/slash on it.

I click and am told that my "30 day trial is up" and I find that hard to beleive since I just renewed it online last month for a year.

I click to "install" and get an anti-virus key.

Why is this happening? I'm confused.

When you renewed (I assume online) they should have sent you an activation/registration key.

If you go into the AV panel, click on the “Live Update” button. At that point (if I remember correctly), it will ask for your registration code. Enter it and you should be good to go.
