At this rate I am going to run myself ragged. Three customers. And two of wanted a piece of glass cut. One didnt laugh when she asked how much, I told her one tank of gas. Things sure hit the bricks when it got close to 4.00 a gallon. At least I still have a sense of humor.
hahahahahahahahahahahahaha

Same thing has happened here. We were having a pretty good start to the year and when gas started going crazy or should I say when the reports of gas going crazy started it was like turning off a spigot.

So strange...Our January was terrible, but February was an excellent month. March is off to a great start, too.

Totally unpredictable! One Saturday you should be giving out numbers to those who walk in and the next Saturday it might be just one pickup. One month's numbers might be three times the previous month. I wish that I could figure it out!

It's going up and down here as well; I had 3 customers this week too; but they all spend a good amount of money so am not complaining.

January was good, February started well and then just completely tankes and March has been off to a decent start (especially with the terrible weather we're having so I didn't expect anything).

Today it's raining, icy rain; so I don't expect any customers. But I'm willing to be totally wrong!

I had 6 .... all on Tuesday........ Jan, Feb were sooo freakin busy... hope it keeps up!

pretty slow up here this week too.
except for yesterday had a good 1,500+ day.
and a lady bought a $550 preframed Ladislov Hanka etching that had been
around the store for over 5years. YAY!

and when a very nice customer picked up her framings she nearly cried with happiness, telling me
I'm the best in town and she's tried others, but came back to me.
boy does that feel good to hear.
just gotta keep on being positive and do the best you can do.

77 people through the cash register today (not all framing by any means) which, unless we get about another 20 through with 45 mins before we close, is below average for a Saturday.

Isn't that a great feeling? We had one almost in tears too at the design table. She was framing a piece for her college age daughter. And this piece is to be her daughter's first print in her own art collection. Very special moment for the mom. And her mom is getting it framed here instead of her daughter framing it off at college so that we do the work.

It's been a weird year. Sounds like it's like this everywhere because while you can usually see overall trends when we all pool our results it seems like throwing darts at a dartboard at the moment.

We'll be working overtime all week. But the average ticket is down by about 30% for the week. On the other hand, we've sold more artwork and collectibles than we have in a long time. And local art, meaning actual scenes of local landmarks, is making a comeback and that's been dead for years so now I have to start calling up artists.

Photo frames have still been selling well. This makes me feel very good since I added a couple of hundred photo frames at WCAF and they are being well received
.

We,ve been slammed. But when you have a store closing sale everybody crawls out of the woodwork to take advantage . And tons of framing orders by customers afraid to go anywhere else and some actually crying because we are moving out of town.

I want to say "Where the he** were you when business was slow and when you should be supporting local business", but I have to bite my tongue or face the wrath of my wife and boss.
