What's wrong with 'Reply with Quote'. It works with some posts but not with others.

Go to Post #4 in http://www.thegrumble.com/showthread.php?72188-I-finally-learned-how-to-peel-a-banana

When I click 'Reply with Quote', the quote doesn't appear in the edit box. Doesn't work in Chrome, FF or IE.

Go to Mr Henry's next post in the same thread (#10), and when you click 'Reply With Quote' it works just fine.

I have also had the same issue when replying to my own post when it was the last post in a thread.

Any thoughts?

It's an issue with the grumble's backup server, which we are currently on. Framer is aware. It seems to be hit or miss - mostly when you post a message and then go back and try to edit the post. (about 1 in 4 times it happens, for me)

The primary server is being tested with a new software product, which will eventually go live.

Mike - thanks for making us aware of the issue. I clicked on this thread with the hope of a resolution! Hopefully it will all be sorted soon.

Thanks Mike. Wasn't sure if it was just me or not. Won't whine again until we get the new server installed.

The related issues have been off and on for over a year, any time we're on the alternate server. I'm not sure exactly why, but we will eventually not have to worry about it. Possibly the PHP version, or something of that sort. The new software is an entirely different product.

Not that it's a big deal, but I have never been able to use the quote function on The Dog Pile group forum. It appears to be functional for others, though. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

There is a strange and obscure setting or db entry somewhere that is not easily found, it could be on your local machine or on the server Jim. I suspect it is related to the angle of transmission from Mars at the time you click the kwote button, if not within 4 decimal points of a prime number then unfortunately it will not work for you.

Lance, all of my computers perform the same way, so it might have something to do with lint in the ether filter.
