I've got a large piece of foamcore loaded with a collage of photos, thats bowing like crazy. Customer wants it matted & framed.( Her kids made it for her a year ago).

So I need to mount this on another foamcore to flatten it. I don't have a drymount press yet. So, whats stickyer, PMA or the ATG tape. Then theres the extra sticky atg, which I haven't tried.

Any input to save me a load of experimenting & redoing?
Thanks grumblers!!!

YES! Paste, is the more appropriate. Roll Yes paste, or Frank's Fabric Adhesive, Mirical Muck... but eschew ATG..

First of all, try dampening the back. Sometimes that will cause the face paper to shrink ever so slightyly and pull it back closer to straight. Can't hurt...

Baer's advice to eschew ATG is right on the mark, but you need to know why. Pressure sensitive adhesives such as ATG and PMA are not intended to adhere under stress. They are intended to hold together two surfaces that have no tendency to separate -- like a paper dustcover or mat layers.

Also, presure sensitive adhesives require pressure to activate their bond, or they won't work under any circumstances for very long.

A water-based paste or glue is much better for the purpose you described. You could drizzle a few lines of your CornerWeld or other frame glue.

Thanks for the glue advise & also for the "why" Jim!
I have it glued & drying under pressure, even as we speak.

I second trying to dampen the back. When I have bowed fome/foamcore I mist the back and throw a glass box on it to dry for a couple hours.
