A few years ago an employee who was cleaning my basement came up with a large tube claiming...'I found treasure'. There were about 12 pieces in the tube. I recently brought them to a local, good antique dealer and appraiser. The artwork probably falls into the decorator art area. They are not old. I think they were done by a russian student. There are 6 architectural pen/ink pieces. These were appraised at $500-600 each. I am contemplating my next move. I could frame them a bring to a local auction, sell them on ebay or...not sure what my third option is. What would you do? Anyone read russian?

Did the local antique dealer who did the appraisal express any interest in handling these drawings? If not, why not?

If the reason is that they might not have local appeal, then ebay's wider customer base might be a better choice for selling them. List one with a $500 reserve and see what happens.

He would've worked with me if they were older. One portrait of a famous russian pianist is from 57 or so but the others are from the 80's. The set of 6 are very well done, very detailed architectural drawings.
