What do you hate about your POS system?

I'm curious to hear from people what they don't like about their design counter framing software.

Someone told me they are fairly happy with SpecialtySoft but it didn't allow you to go in and change purchase orders later which she didn't like.

What do you really wish your software did differently?

Andrew

p.s. We're using proprietary pricing software that's getting long in the tooth.

There's nothing I specifically don't like in my FrameReady software, but three improvements I would like to see are:

1.) A way to set preferences and automatically update all vendor pricing without having to babysit the computer and make numerous choices as the updates are done.

2.) When updating prices there is an option to print new additions, but there is not an option to print discontinued items. I realize that you can mark the discontinues then print a list, but it is one extra step. Until the feature in the revision listed below becomes available in #3 this would be helpful.

3.) I'm still waiting for Bert to come out with a revision whereby after updating a vendor you could choose to push a button and have all the discontinued product samples fly off your displays and go into the trash bin.

Ummm? What did she mean by not being able to change purchase orders later? Making changes in a customer's order? Because that can be done, and easily too.

Their tech support (the one time in 4 years I needed it) and sales support is absolutely great and I always get answers and help right away. THey are extremely quick to respond, which is very important to me.

I haven't found anything that Specialty Soft is not doing, but it is not very user's friendly/intuitive. If you look at the techie survey, there are a lot of framers using Lifesaver (or was it the other big one...sorry...whatever it is).

I wish mine was pink........ otherwise.. I'm all good.

I wish that I could pay monthly or quarterly or semi-annually without an added fee. Even an automatic withdrawal would be fine.

POs are what you use to make purchases from your suppliers. If you can't make changes to an Open PO I wouldn't be very happy either. Received POs should not be able to be changed, but if you had to delete and re-enter an Open PO to make a "change" that would be an excessive, unnecessary (IMO) amount of effort.
