What do you dislike about your CMC?

In what way do you wish your CMC was better?

Better accuracy cutting?
Some annoying software characteristic?

We have a 2001 Eclipse CMC and while it cuts accurately, the initial plunge into the board on a mat is different than the remaining, so it undercuts slightly on the first corner. (It can be adjusted out but then the corner has a hook.) If you cut several mats at a time, it's most noticeable on the first mat. The rest of the corners are dead-on accurate. And while the software is old, it's very efficient simply cutting a standard mat.

What about your CMC? Anything you'd change?

Thanks,
Andrew

Dont like: the "do you really want to reset the motors" alert that pops up when you hit the "reset motors" button which appeared a couple of software updates ago. Yes, of course I do, you bottomless silicone brained clot, I do want to reset the motors, thats why I pressed the damned reset-motors button in the first place. And why ask me anyway if you aren't going to give me the option to say no. I would change that.

Kev, that was suggested by me. On the 9000, before this modification, if you hit any key to abort, the head would come crashing down on to the lower rail. The could result in damage to the head and the lower rail.

I never had an 8500, so I don't know if the head on that machine said fixed when you hit abort. I know that this won't ease your frustration, but at least knowing the reason may help.

My CMC is green................... I wish it was pink.......... it does what I need though... :popc:

There is a slight hook on oval or circle cuts on my machine...... where the cut starts and stops...
I assume I can calibrate that if I want to....but its hardly noticeable.

well at least there's a reason for it - albiet on another machine than I use.
Frustration level one step forward, two steps back ;)
