Good Morning Grumblers,
I'm looking for sources for "Western Style" Mouldings, saw some pretty impressive ones at a fancy schmancy western theme restaurant this weekend and realized that while they aren't my taste, they probably would be desirable to my customers. ( Already have Montana Mouldings and Roma)

Thanks for all leads, obtw, I did my first Nori/Mulberry hinges yesterday, loved them.

If you're looking for the wide, wire-brushed moulding with liner (either linen or wood)... try San Diego Frames. They make ready-mades with that look. They have a nice selection of other types also. I don't think they have a web site, but you can call them at (619) 423-2929 and ask for a catalog.

My favorite Moulding for Western art is Regence's #1236 - carved rosewood corner w/22k gold lip (2 3/4"). Suggested retail $90 ft. (or more, depending on your closed corner mark-up). All of the Regence Rosewood, Pino and Mora finished antique woods would be desirable for Western art.

Orr

J Orr has some nice western style mouldings with the inlaid diamond look, also a few with feathers.

Thanks for the info. Can't find a link for J Orr Moulding, ( are you kidding me about the feathers?) and Pat, I'd love to have a client base who would consider a $90. ft. molding! :D

Call Orr at 1-800-366-1007

I'm sure they'll be happy to send you a catalogue. Haven't seen one with feathers, though!

The "feathers" are part of their inlaid series. Small, and a bit pricey, but very nice.

Territ, I steared you wrong in my first post (oh, to sleep a full night!).... San Diego Frames carries some real nice, wide, *pine* frames. And I did find a website: sandiegoframeco.com

For the wide, wire-brushed frames, we get ours from folks coming up from Mexico with rented U-Hauls. Hard to track those guys down! But your port-of-entry towns on the border might be a place to start. Trying calling some frame shops in El Paso for help.

You might try Rustic Creations 822-410-3200. They are located near the middle of no where in Texas. I believe it is Steedman TX. Most frames made out of old barn wood and fence posts.

Terri,
You might also give Singleton Mouldings a try, they are in Breckenridge (plus they deliver). 800-338-6709
