Does bad weather create business??

I was expecting a really dead day on Saturday: Hanna was supposed to pass over us with severe storm & flood warnings. The day started ominously cloudy but no rain yet.

Suddenly The deluge started: Customers coming in non-stop, many new customers too. It felt like it was the week before Xmas!!

The day ended being one of the best days of the year (even sold some art). I closed at 4 PM and a few minutes after that Hanna arrived and the pounding rain started while on the way home.

Looking back, I always had more business during bad weather (rain / blizzards, etc) than sunny, beautiful days!
 
that's because everyone is too distracted by the shiny bright orb in the sky to even think about getting things framed...
 
Up here in the Rainy Northwest, that is always how it is. However, that is because we see the sun so much less than the rest of you. If it's a beautiful sunny day we are out in it if at all possible! Unless you are stuck working...:cry:

I'm glad that darned ol' storm didn't get the best of ya', Paul. Who knows, maybe all this framing is the beginning of your Christmas rush? It's so good to see your name on here again. I missed your friendly notes and the yummy recipes you share in the food group. :)
