Any thoughts on where to find small (9"x12", 5"x7") beveled mirror? We are doing some design consultation for a company, and they are really excited about using these sizes. We have found companies that will custom make them (yikes $)... does anyone know of anyone who has stock small sizes?
Thanks! Kari

Does your client want only one mirror, or a substantial quantity? If you can promise a quantity job to potential suppliers, I imagine the price will go down.

Your problem is the size, combined with the word "beveled". Nobody wants to bevel small mirror anymore because they don't do it by hand anymore.... the only want to strap it into a machine and that will only do a minimum of 10".

Hmmmm for some reason, it sounds familiar.

I only know this because one of my good customers has been trying to get an 8x10 oval with a 1" bevel.....

Tripar International, (800) 222-1142

They have stock sizes at 4 x 8 and 8 x 12 with a bevel and they are priced well. Good company to work with as well.

Call Dana Zaring 800-329-9330 FMI (Fort Mill Industries) for custom glass and mirrors. Her company does beautiful beveled mirrors. Not sure how small they'll go, but if anyone can do it, she can.

Design Guild moulding has great prices on beveled mirrors.

If anyone likes to make up mini mirrors from scrap moulding , I get 2x2, 3x3 and 4x4 mini bevel mirrors from one of my mosaic suppliers, Delphi Glass.

Friday, I got a call from one of my huge customers..... they needed an 8x10 oval with a 1" bevel for Christmas.

So as of today:

InLine wants 3-4 weeks to put it in their production line in Canada....

Tripar International doesn't stock either 8x10 or 9x12...... but 9x17 sure.

Fort Mill Industries wanted to know exactly who I was, what was my interest, how many did I need, why was I calling them, who refered me, how did I know her, how was I going to pay for it, what shipping company would I be supplying, and could I hold........ then they went to lunch. After 11 minutes, they came back on the line long enough to hang up.

Hot Glass, how fast can you get that up here???? And then they wonder why they are getting "out-sourced".

Baer, I am suprised at you. All you need is a belt sander, some wet & dry sandpaper, a garden hose and good insurance. You could make a jig, but its more fun to free hand it. As they say on Mythbusters don't try this at home we're professionals.

Dave, as a Mythbuster yourself you would know that the polycarbide grit on the belt sanders isn't what it's cranked up to be..... also don't have an air driven beltsander.

Sorry not Dave. Electric sander is much more fun, but a friend of mine invented the GFI circuit, for just such an occasion. ;)
