I have a little TomTom which I keep in the armrest box between the seats, and I plug it in periodically to keep it charged up in case I need it. I do use it about once a month. It is always turned off when I put it into the box, whether it is plugged in or not.

Several times in the last month or so it has turned itself on. Here I am driving along, minding my own business and I hear this little voice coming from inside the box, saying, "Turn around when possible."

First time that happened I almost had an accident.

Anyone ever heard of such a thing? The on/off button is fairly difficult to press, and everything I carry inside the box is wedged in pretty tightly, so I know nothing can be accidentally pressing the button.

What the heck is going on?

First the mounting press, now the GPS.

What next?

5s it hacked? I heard from people who hack tomtom's to track when your out for longer time to "visit" your home for free "shopping'...... Next step is to do some bad influences to disable your tom-tom to keep you out for longer time.

And this is not a joke! We had people over here from Romania who developed a special electronic device to disable detection-ports in shops. These ports detects chipped articles that did not pass the pay-bar. Smart stuff.
